Store Templates: Restyle Your Whole Store in One Click

Open the Store templates picker from the Store Editor, preview a template on your own storefront, apply it as a draft, review what changes, publish everything together with Publish all, and undo the whole thing from History.

A store template is a complete look for your whole store: every page, plus the header and the footer. Where a theme pack changes colours and typography, a store template restyles the layout and design of each page in one go. It keeps what is yours: your products, menus, text and images stay.

What you can do

  • Browse store templates in a full-screen picker (one grid, with an industry filter), opened from the Templates tile in the left rail (or the Theme hub). Store templates are open to every plan.
  • Preview any template, with its own sample products and images, inside the picker (Desktop or Mobile view) or in a new tab, before you apply it. Nothing is applied or saved by a preview.
  • Choose whether to add sample products (and category menus) when you apply, so a brand-new store does not look empty.
  • Apply a template as a draft. Nothing changes on your live store until you choose Publish all.
  • Preview the whole store in a new tab, keep editing any page, then review exactly what will change before publishing.
  • Undo a published template from Template History, which restores your full previous live store.

The ten templates

The gallery offers ten templates, one for each of ten industries. The names and descriptions below are exactly what each card shows. The full-screen picker lays every card out in one grid, with the industry written above each card name, in the order Fashion, Beauty, Jewellery, Electronics, Home, Grocery, Bakery, Salon, then Ethnic and Family Fashion, which follow the fixed list. Above the grid, the All button and one button per industry filter the cards; those two buttons read Ethnic Wear and Family Fashion. The narrow Theme hub column groups the cards under an industry heading instead.

Card nameIndustryDescription on the card
Atelier FashionFashionA couture-led fashion store: serif display type, hairline layouts and a warm terracotta accent.
Heirloom JewelleryJewelleryA quiet-luxury jewellery store with Marcellus display type, ivory ground and antique-gold accent.
Botanical BeautyBeautyA soft botanical beauty store with Fraunces display type, rounded geometry and a clay-rose accent.
Fresh GroceryGroceryA fresh-food grocery store with Bricolage Grotesque headings, white ground and deep green accent.
Studio HomeHomeA calm home and furniture store with Lora headings, linen ground and moss-green accent.
Neighbourhood BakeryBakeryA letterpress-styled bakery store with Fraunces headings, cream ground and ink-blue accent.
Circuit ElectronicsElectronicsA precise electronics store with Space Grotesk headings, cool grey ground and deep teal accent.
Studio SalonSalonA calm salon and spa store with Source Serif headings, sage accent and appointment-first layout.
Saanjh Ethnic WearEthnic WearAn ethnic-wear store: brown and beige, a serif display face, a festive sale ticker and a video-led Best Selling rail.
Aadhya Family FashionFamily FashionA family fashion and home textiles store: sarees, men, women, girls and handloom linen, with a ticker of promises and a hero with live headline text.

Aadhya Family Fashion: what you get

Pick this one for a shop that sells sarees, menswear, womenswear, girls' clothing and handloom home linen under one roof. It uses DM Serif Display headings with Inter body text, a near-black primary colour and a green accent. The header shows a scrolling announcement bar ("Festive wear for the whole family | Free shipping on orders over 999") above a centred menu, with search, cart, wishlist, account and a Login button. The footer has link groups and a newsletter box.

The home page, top to bottom:

#SectionWhat it shows
1Hero bannerOne slide, "Festive wear for the whole family", with a Shop the Collection button to your products page. It uses a separate image on mobile.
2Promise tickerA scrolling strip of short promises (for example Traditional Collections, Quality Fabrics, Women's Fashion).
3Shop by category ("Explore Our Collections")Round category images that link to the sample categories.
4Our Signature Saree CollectionA product carousel. Mobile only.
5Best SellingA product grid. Desktop only.
6Room Inspiration (flat image mode)A picture grid with no heading, shown on both.
7Trending NowA carousel of 8 hand-picked sample products.
8Why Shop With UsBenefit cards. Desktop only.
9What Our Customers SayA testimonial carousel. Mobile only.
10Promo tilesThree tiles: New Arrivals, Men's Fashion, Kids & Girls Wear. Mobile only.
11Frequently Asked QuestionsQuestions about clothing types, festive wear and delivery.

The template also contains a Lookbook section, switched off. Turn it on from the page's section list if you want it.

Sample catalogue. When you leave Add sample products on, the template adds 22 products in 4 categories, with images and no variants: Women (9: six sarees, two kurtas and a salwar suit), Men (5 kurtas), Girls Clothing (4 outfits) and Home & Living (4 linen items). The category circles, carousels and promo tiles link to these. Prices and names are placeholders; replace them before you take real orders.

Pick it. Open Store Editor, click the Templates tile in the left rail, find Aadhya Family Fashion (or click the industry button above the grid, which reads Family Fashion), then Preview and Apply as described below.

Find the Store templates picker

The picker is a full-screen window titled Store templates. There are four ways to open it:

WhereHow
Left railIn Store Editor, on any page, click the Templates tile at the bottom of the left module rail (below Settings). When the rail is collapsed the tile shows only its icon, with Templates as the tooltip.
First visitThe first time you open the Store Editor on a store that has never applied a store template, and has no template draft waiting, the picker opens by itself with a Skip for now button in its header.
Setup checklistClick the store setup progress pill in the top bar. The list gains a step Choose a store template, marked Incomplete until a store template application has been published. Click the step to open the picker. If the editor cannot read your template history, the step is left out of the list rather than shown as incomplete.
Theme hubStore Editor → Theme (the palette button in the top bar) → Store templates tab. This shows the same cards in a narrow column instead of the full-screen grid.

On a page that has its own layout choices, the inspector's Change theme button opens the same picker on its Landing page layouts tab (see below). A store editor address that ends in ?gallery=true also opens the picker.

Skip for now and the close (X) and back arrow buttons all close the picker. If the picker opened by itself, closing it with any of them remembers that in this browser, so it does not open by itself again on later visits; open it from the Templates tile whenever you want. Pressing Escape also closes it.

Preview a template on your own store

Every card has a Preview button next to Apply template. Preview shows the template's own sample products and images (sample content), so you can judge the design with a full-looking store. It does not show your catalog, and your products are not changed. After you apply the template, your storefront shows your real products in the template's layout.

Click Preview on a card

A window titled Preview: (template name) opens over the picker and shows the template's sample storefront. A note at the top says nothing is applied or saved until you apply it.

Browse the store inside the window

Click through the pages in the frame: the home page, collections, product pages, cart and the rest. The template is applied across all of them. Pages the template does not restyle show your current store as it is today. The frame renders the storefront at desktop width, scaled down to fit the window. Above the preview, the Desktop and Mobile buttons switch the view; Desktop is selected when the window opens. Mobile shows the storefront at phone width. To see it full size, click Open in a new tab at the bottom left of the window.

Decide

Click Apply template in the window to go straight to the apply dialog, or Close to return to the picker and Preview another card.

Preview saves nothing and changes nothing on your live store or your drafts. The preview link works for about 15 minutes; after that, click Preview again for a fresh one. If the frame cannot load, the window says "The preview could not be loaded." with a Retry button.

On a template marked as needing a storefront upgrade you can still open Preview, but Apply template is disabled. Preview itself is disabled only when no storefront address is configured for your store.

Apply a store template

Screen: Store Editor → Templates tile (left rail) → Store templates tab, or Store Editor → Theme → Store templates tab.

Open the picker and choose a template

Open the picker as described above. Each card shows a thumbnail, its industry, its name and a short description. The picker says "A complete look for every page. Keep your content, review the drafts, then publish together. All templates are open to every plan." Use Preview first if you want to see it on your store.

Click Apply template

Click Apply template on the card you want. A dialog titled Apply store template opens with the template name and two notes: it restyles every page and the header and footer, including pages you have customised, while your text, images, menus and products stay; and a full snapshot is taken first so you can undo, and nothing goes live until you Publish all.

Choose the sample products and menu options

Below the two notes, an options block can show up to two switches: Add sample products and Create category menus. See the two sections below. If you leave both as they are, the apply uses the defaults the dialog shows.

Confirm with Apply to drafts

Click Apply to drafts (the button reads Applying… while it works). The template's header, footer, fonts, spacing and section styling replace your current look; your logo, store name and navigation links are kept. If you have unsaved edits in the editor they are saved first (nothing is saved when there is nothing pending). When it finishes, the picker closes, every page and the header and footer carry the template's design as a draft, and the draft banner appears at the top of the editor.

Review, then Publish all

Use Preview store in the banner to check the draft, then Publish all to go live (both described below).

Sample products and category menus

The apply dialog reads what the template would add before you confirm. The options block appears only when there is something to choose; if the dialog cannot read the plan, the block stays hidden and the apply uses the server defaults.

Add sample products

Each template ships a small catalogue of sample products with photos, in a few categories, so a new store has something to show. The Add sample products switch says how many products and categories ("N products in M categories, with photos") and notes that samples stay hidden until you Publish all.

SituationWhat the switch does
Your store has no products of its ownOn by default.
Your store already has productsOff by default, with the note "Your store already has N products, so samples are off by default." You can switch it on.
Your plan has no roomDisabled, with "Your plan does not have room for N more products. Upgrade your plan or delete products to add samples." When there is room it shows "Uses N of your M free product slots."
Your plan has room for only part of the catalogueThe switch stays usable and a note reads "Your plan has room for N of the M sample products, so we'll add those. Upgrade your plan to get the rest." The apply adds as many samples as fit, starting with the products that headline sections of the template, instead of adding none.
You apply a second templateThe untouched sample products from the previous template are replaced ("The N untouched sample products from (name) are replaced."). Only untouched samples are replaced.

What samples are:

  • They are real products. Once published, customers can add them to the cart and order them. Each sample has a stock of 10.
  • Until you click Publish all they are hidden from your storefront.
  • In Products (the product list or grid) every sample carries a Sample tag, and while any sample is live a notice at the top reads "N sample products are live and can be ordered. Delete them when you add your own." Delete them, or edit them into your own products, when you are ready.
  • If you edit a sample, or it has orders, undoing the template later keeps it (see Undo below).

Create category menus

When the template has category links to add, the Create category menus switch is shown. It adds those category links to your header menu and a Shop column to your footer ("Adds N category links to your header and a Shop column in your footer."). If you built your own menu, the switch reads Replace my menu with category menus, is off, and says your menu is kept unless you tick it; Undo restores it.

The Landing page layouts tab

When you open the picker from a page that is being edited in the page composer, a second tab, Landing page layouts, appears next to Store templates. It holds the older ready-made layouts for the single page you are editing: a Search templates box, an industry filter (All plus one button per industry), and cards with Use this template. Choosing one on a page that already has sections asks Replace existing page? ("Applying this template will replace all of them. This cannot be undone from here.") with Cancel and Replace. Some layouts are locked to a higher plan and show Upgrade to use, or are blocked when the layout has more sections than your plan allows.

This tab replaces the sections of that one page only. It does not restyle your whole store. When the picker is opened from the Templates tile, the first-run prompt or the setup checklist it opens on Store templates. On screens with no page composer open, only the Store templates tab is shown.

Applying never touches your live store. Visitors keep seeing your current store until you publish.

The draft banner: preview, publish or discard

While a store template draft is waiting, a banner titled Store template draft sits at the top of the editor with the line "Continue editing any page. Your live store stays unchanged until Publish all." It has three buttons:

ButtonWhat it does
Preview storeSaves your pending edits, then opens your storefront draft (the applied template, including your edits) in a new browser tab (the button reads Opening preview… meanwhile). It needs a pop-up to open; if your browser blocks the pop-up you see "This action could not be completed. Save pending edits and try again." Allow pop-ups for the admin site and try again. If no storefront URL is configured, the button is disabled and the banner says "Store preview is unavailable until a storefront URL is configured."
Publish allOpens the review dialog described below.
DiscardOpens Discard store template draft?, which explains it restores all drafts from the pre-apply snapshot, including edits you made since applying, and leaves your live store unchanged. Confirm with Discard, or Cancel.

You can keep editing any page while the draft is waiting. Those edits are part of the draft and are included when you publish.

Review and publish with Publish all

Click Publish all in the banner

The Publish all pages dialog opens and first shows "Loading the latest draft changes…". It saves your pending edits so the review includes them.

Review what changes

The dialog says to review every affected page and the store theme, and that Publish all makes these drafts and the theme live together. Each changed page is an expandable row. Inside, every changed field shows Live now beside Draft to publish, with Not set where a value was empty, and fields that did not change show No changes. Page-level design is listed under Page styles. The last row, Store theme and branding, is open by default. Field labels include Layout, Style, Theme, Text, Images, Colours, Features, Sections, Section styles, Primary colour, Secondary colour, Body font and Identity.

Check the sample products line

If the apply added sample products, a line near the top reads "Sample products go live: N products in M categories", with a note that customers can order samples (stock 10 each) until you delete them and that they are marked Sample in your product list. Click Publish without samples on that line to publish the template and delete the sample drafts instead.

Click Publish all

Click Publish all in the dialog footer (it reads Publishing… meanwhile). Every page, the header, the footer and the store theme go live together, and the banner disappears.

If the review cannot be loaded, the dialog says "The detailed change review is unavailable. Save pending edits and refresh. Publishing stays disabled until the review can be loaded." and shows a Retry button. Publish all stays disabled until the review loads, so you can never publish blind.

What your customers see

  • Before you publish: nothing changes. Customers see the store exactly as it was, even while you preview and edit the draft.
  • After Publish all: every page, plus the header and footer, shows the template's design. Your products, categories, menus, text and images are the same ones you had, laid out in the new style.

Undo a template from History

Screen: Store Editor → Template History button in the top bar → Version history dialog → Store templates tab. When the top bar is crowded the button shortens to History; on very narrow windows it moves into the More actions menu (three dots) as Template History.

The dialog has two tabs: Page versions (the saved versions of one page, opened first) and Store templates. Selecting Store templates retitles the dialog Store template history.

Open History and switch tab

Click Template History (or History) in the top bar, then click the Store templates tab. The block says: "Review previous applications. Undo restores the full pre-apply snapshot to your live store, including pages, drafts, theme, branding and menus. Later edits are replaced. Sample products added by the template are removed unless you edited them or they have orders."

Find the application

Each row shows the template name and version, a status line, when it was Applied and, once published, when it was Published. The status reads Draft, Live, Discarded, Undone or Replaced by a newer template. Use Load more to see older applications. With none yet, the block says "No store template applications yet."

Click Undo store template live

Click Undo store template live on the row. The Restore your live store? dialog warns that this immediately restores the full pre-apply snapshot to your LIVE store (published pages, page drafts, theme and branding), that every edit made after applying is replaced, that sample products from this template are deleted (samples you edited or that have orders are kept), and that it is not a draft-only change.

Confirm with Restore live store

Click Restore live store (it reads Restoring… meanwhile), or Cancel to leave things as they are. If it fails, the dialog stays open with "The live store could not be restored. Your confirmation remains open; try again."

Read the sample result

If samples were involved, a note on the tab reads "Undo removed N sample products and restored M." followed, when some stayed, by "Kept because you edited them or they are in use:" and the product names.

Undo store template live is disabled on any row the system does not mark as undoable, so you cannot restore from it.

The sign-in page after you apply a template

A store template also sets your customer Login page. Each industry template picks a login design and switches on a few look-and-feel options for it. Your store name and logo from Branding are handed to the sign-in page, so a design that shows a brand mark can show yours.

Template (industry)Login designWhat customers see
Atelier Fashion (fashion)Light Shell V2, editorial layoutEditorial hero with the words LINEN, SILK, COTTON and KNIT; form heading "Aranya" with "Atelier account".
Heirloom Jewellery (jewellery)Heritage FramePaper-texture frame, headline "Kanak & Co." and a "BIS hallmarked" established badge, with a visible edge on input fields.
Botanical Beauty (beauty)Maison BotanicalArt panel with a bottle photo, title "Veda Botanica", tagline "Cold-pressed oils, gently made". The tagline sits on a dark chip so it stays readable over the photo.
Fresh Grocery (grocery)Split PanelPhoto banner with the quote "Farm-fresh, to your doorstep." and a "Members" badge; form welcome "Sign in to continue to Annapurna".
Studio Home (home)Split PanelBanner quote "A calm, lived-in home."; welcome "Sign in to continue to Mitti & Moss".
Neighbourhood Bakery (bakery)Split PanelBanner quote "Baked fresh, every morning." with a "Regulars" badge; welcome "Sign in to continue to The Butter Bench".
Circuit Electronics (electronics)Light Shell V2, minimal layoutWordmark "CADENCE", eyebrow "Listen closely.", side text "CADENCE AUDIO" and an "Account" tag.
Saanjh Ethnic Wear (ethnic)Light Shell V2The template sets only this design; it carries no sample sign-in copy and none of the four options below.
Aadhya Family Fashion (family-fashion-home)Heritage FrameThe template sets this design with the established-year text "Est. 2026" on the frame.
Studio Salon (salon)Split PanelSalon photo banner, quote "Hair, skin and spa, unhurried." with a "Guests" badge; welcome "Sign in to continue to Aura Salon & Spa".

The wording above is the template's sample copy. It replaces the default login text when you apply, so edit it afterwards in the Store Editor (Pages → Login) to match your own brand.

The four options a template can switch on are:

OptionUsed byEffect
Visible field edgesAll Split Panel, Heritage Frame and Maison Botanical templatesDraws a clearly visible edge around the input fields and social buttons. Without it the field edge follows your theme pack.
Brand logoSplit Panel templates (grocery, home, bakery, salon)In the form panel header, shows your store logo, or your store name as text when there is no logo, instead of a plain placeholder square.
Readable overlaySplit Panel templatesPuts a dark panel behind the banner quote so the text stays legible over the photo.
Clean wordmarkMaison Botanical (beauty)Puts the collection tagline on a dark rounded chip directly over the photo.

Set the logo and name the sign-in page uses

Open Site-wide → Branding

In the Store Editor, click Site-wide in the left module rail, then Branding.

Upload the Main logo

Under Logo, set Main logo. This image is what the sign-in page shows. (Dark-mode logo and Favicon are separate fields.)

Set the store name

Open Site-wide → General and fill in Store name. When there is no logo, the sign-in page falls back to this name.

Save and check the storefront

Save, then reload your store's sign-in page. The page reads your store name and logo from Branding.

For the full branding workflow see Store Branding.

Change the sign-in design

To use a different login design, go to Pages → Login in the Store Editor, open the Design tab of the inspector and click Change template. Pick a design from the gallery.

The four options are set by the template

Visible field edges, Brand logo, Readable overlay and Clean wordmark are written by the store template. In the current Store Editor there is no control that names or toggles them, so you cannot switch them off individually. Choosing a different login design with Change template is the way to change the look. Whether the new design keeps these options depends on that design.

Edge cases

  • Applying while a draft already exists. Only one store template draft can wait at a time. The dialog shows a warning, "Your existing store template draft will be discarded before this template is applied. Your live store stays unchanged.", and the confirm button reads Discard draft and apply.
  • Template needs a storefront upgrade. A card whose template is not compatible with your storefront shows "Needs a storefront upgrade before applying." with the missing feature names, and its Apply template button is disabled. See Storefront upgrade.
  • Pages you already customised. The dialog states that these are restyled too, while your text, images, menus and products stay. The snapshot lets you undo.
  • Custom CSS. A template replaces a page's custom CSS only if it ships CSS for that page. See Page Custom CSS.
  • Buttons disabled while busy. While a store template action is running, Apply, Publish all, Discard and Undo are all disabled so two actions cannot overlap. If your edits cannot be saved first, the action stops with an error and nothing changes.

Staff-only export

If your admin login has the staff role and the authoring flag is turned on for the environment, an Export as Store Template button appears at the bottom of the Store templates tab (and in the command palette). It downloads a template file for the BillionBiz team and is not shown to merchants.

Edit the About and Contact texts after you apply a template

Some store templates use the Founder Letter (2026) design for About Us and the Atelier Contact (2026) design for Contact Us. After you apply one, open Store Editor → Pages → Browse, pick About Us or Contact Us, and use the Content tab to change the texts. The step-by-step guides are in Founder Letter (2026) letter body and Atelier Contact (2026). Remember to Publish all or publish the page afterwards.

Why does my About letter show only a greeting?

The letter body comes from your store's founder quote or origin story first. When the store has neither, it uses the three Letter paragraph rows on the About Us Content tab. If those are blank too, only the greeting and the closing line appear. Fill in at least one paragraph and publish.

Header style and product page by template

Each template ships its own header layout. Applying a template replaces your current header with the one below (your logo, store name and menu links are kept).

TemplateHeader style you get
Atelier Fashion, Botanical Beauty, Studio HomeSerif luxury bar: a 72px bar with a thin hairline underneath, your brand name in serif type, underlined menu links, and search, cart and account on the right. The menu sits on the left and the brand in the centre.
Circuit ElectronicsThe same serif luxury bar, but with the brand on the left, the menu in the centre and the utilities on the right.
Heirloom JewelleryCentred masthead: your brand centred above a menu row, on a flat ivory ground with a single gold rule.
Fresh GroceryDepartment-store bar: two rows with a wide search box on the right, plus cart and account.
Neighbourhood BakeryCentred logo with the menu split on either side, and cart and account on the right.
Studio SalonMinimal hamburger bar: a menu button and your brand; links open from the menu.
Saanjh Ethnic Wear, Aadhya Family FashionTwo-tier utility bar, unchanged. These two keep their scrolling announcement ticker.

Things that apply to every template-applied store:

  • No announcement bar by default (except the two ethnic and family templates above). The announcement text is not switched on for you. To add one, open the Store Editor header, select Announcement Bar and type a Message, as described in the troubleshooting note below.
  • Signed-out account shows as an icon. When a visitor is not signed in, the account control in the header is a plain person icon that opens the sign-in page, not a pill-shaped Login button. Stores that have not applied a store template keep the pill.
  • Utilities: words or icons, depending on the template. Heirloom Jewellery shows plain text links, Search, Account, Wishlist and Bag, with no icons. Atelier Fashion, Botanical Beauty, Studio Home and Circuit Electronics show each icon with its label beside it. Fresh Grocery, Neighbourhood Bakery, Studio Salon and Saanjh Ethnic Wear keep icons only. When the cart has items, the count follows the label, for example Bag (2). The count appears only when the cart is not empty.
  • Utilities on a phone (about 390px wide). On Jewellery the bar shows the menu button on the left, your brand centred, and only Bag on the right. On Fashion, Beauty, Home and Electronics the bar shows the menu button, your brand centred, and Search and Bag on the right (icon plus label). Account and Wishlist are not in the phone bar. Icon-only templates keep their usual phone layout.

On the product page of a template-applied store:

  • One pincode checker. The delivery checker sits inside the product information. Stores that have not applied a template keep their existing layout, including the checker above the buy box.
  • Breadcrumb aligned with the page content. On desktop the breadcrumb lines up with the left edge of the content below it.
  • Jewellery product page is quieter. On the Heirloom Jewellery template there is no "Maison collection" eyebrow line and no SKU line under the product title or in the sticky add-to-cart bar. A brand or vendor name still shows if you have set one.

Edit the header utility labels

The utility words are editable on Jewellery (Masthead header) and on Fashion, Beauty, Home and Electronics (Serif Luxury Bar header). Icon-only templates have no such fields.

  1. Open Store Editor and select the header, Header Navbar.
  2. On the Content tab, find the label fields: Search label (text utility style), Account label (text utility style), Wishlist label (text utility style) and Cart label (text utility style).
  3. Type your own words, for example Basket instead of Bag. Defaults are Search, Account, Wishlist and Bag.
  4. Publish all, then reload the storefront.

The Account label is also what the storefront shows on the account control. A signed-out visitor sees that word (or icon plus word) which opens the sign-in page; it follows the same text you typed. The cart count is added after your Cart label automatically.

Troubleshooting

Why don't customers see my template?

  • It is still a draft. Applying only creates drafts. The Store template draft banner means it is not live. Open Publish all, review, and click Publish all in the dialog.
  • Publish all is greyed out. The review has not loaded or failed. Click Retry, save pending edits, and reopen.
  • You looked at the old tab. Reload the storefront after publishing.
  • You undid it. Check Template History: an application marked as undone is no longer live.

The Templates tile is missing, or the picker did not open by itself

  • The tile appears at the bottom of the left rail only inside the Store Editor. If you skipped or closed the first-run picker, it will not open by itself again in that browser; click Templates.
  • The picker opens by itself only for a store that has never applied a store template and has no template draft waiting. A store with a draft waiting shows the draft banner instead.
  • The setup step Choose a store template is hidden when your template history cannot be read, and the whole setup pill disappears once every step is done.

Preview does nothing, or shows an error

  • "The preview could not be loaded." appears in the preview window when the link could not be created. Click Retry in the window.
  • The preview link expires after about 15 minutes. If the frame shows an expired or blank preview, close the window and click Preview again.
  • The frame is your storefront shown inside the editor. Open in a new tab shows the same preview full size; if your browser blocks that tab, allow pop-ups for the admin site.
  • If some pages look like your current store, the template does not restyle those pages; this is expected.
  • The preview looks small or cut off: the frame is a desktop-width storefront scaled to fit the window. Click Open in a new tab for full size, or switch to Mobile to see the phone layout.
  • Preview is disabled while no storefront address is configured for your store.

The Apply template button is greyed out

Check, in order: the card does not say "Needs a storefront upgrade before applying."; no other store template action is running; and there is no error banner saying "Your current store template draft could not be loaded. Reload its state before applying." (click its Retry). If the gallery shows "Store templates could not be loaded.", click Retry under it.

Apply fails: what each message means

If Apply to drafts fails, a red alert appears in the Apply store template dialog and the dialog stays open so you can retry. The message depends on the kind of failure:

MessageWhat it means and what to do
"We could not reach the server. Check your connection and try again."The request never got an answer. Check your internet connection and click Apply to drafts again.
"The template could not be applied because the request was rejected."The server refused the request. It may be followed by the server's own message and "If this keeps happening, contact support and quote the details above." Retry once, then contact support with that text.
"This template cannot be applied because some of its sections are not supported by your store yet."Followed by Error code: STORE_TEMPLATE_UNREPRESENTABLE and a bulleted list of the section names (or, when the page type itself is the reason, the page type) that blocked it. Pick a different template, or check whether the card showed a storefront upgrade note (Storefront upgrade) and upgrade first.
"Your store changed while you were applying this template. Reload the page and try again."Someone else (or another tab) changed the store at the same moment. Reload the editor, then apply again.
"This template is no longer available. Close this dialog and refresh the gallery."The template was withdrawn. Close the dialog, reopen the tab, and choose another.
"Something went wrong on our side. Nothing was changed. Please try again in a moment."A server error. Your store is untouched. Wait a moment and retry.
"The template could not be applied. Save any pending edits and try again."Any other failure. Save your edits and retry.

When the server returns a code, an Error code: line is added under the message. Quote it, with any listed sections, if you contact support.

Publish all failed: what each message means

If you click Publish all and publishing fails, a red alert appears inside the Publish all pages dialog, above the change review. The dialog stays open, the review stays visible, and Publish all stays clickable so you can try again.

MessageWhat it means and what to do
"Publishing failed. Your drafts are unchanged; nothing went live."The server did not accept the publish. Your drafts and your live store are exactly as they were. If the server gave a reason it appears underneath, with an Error code: line when one was returned. Click Retry in the alert (or Publish all again). If it keeps failing, contact support and quote that text.
"We could not reach the server. Your drafts are unchanged; nothing went live. Check your connection and try again."The request never got an answer. Check your internet connection, then click Retry.

This is different from "The detailed change review is unavailable…", which means the review itself could not load; in that case Publish all is greyed out and Retry reloads the review (see "Publish all is greyed out" above).

Why does my sign-in page show my store name instead of a logo?

The brand mark uses your Main logo when one exists and falls back to the Store name when it does not. Upload a logo under Site-wide → Branding → Logo → Main logo and reload the sign-in page. Designs that do not draw a brand mark (Heritage Frame and Maison Botanical show the template's own headline or title text instead) will not show your logo until you edit that text in Pages → Login.

My logo does not show on a Split Panel sign-in page

After you apply the grocery, home, bakery or salon template, the sign-in page shows your Main logo by default, or your Store name as text when no logo is uploaded. If neither appears, the Show Logo switch on the Login page has been turned off. Open Pages → Login, go to the Behavior tab of the inspector (where a page's on/off switches live) and turn Show Logo on. The switch's exact position in that tab is read from the page's capability list in source, not seen in the running editor. If the logo is still missing, check that a Main logo or a Store name is set (see the steps above).

Can I turn off the login styling a template applied?

Not individually. The four options (Visible field edges, Brand logo, Readable overlay, Clean wordmark) are set by the template and the Store Editor has no control for them yet. To change the look, pick another design with Pages → Login → Design → Change template, or undo the whole template from History.

My template has a section that the Section library shows as plan-locked

Store templates are open to every plan, but a template can include sections that the Section library marks as needing a higher plan, such as Lookbook, Story Mode or Routine Builder. On the page they stay where the template put them. The plan only decides whether you can add another copy: in the Section library those cards show a lock and a plan name (for example "PRO plan") and cannot be added until you move to that plan. The plan name on each locked card tells you which plan a section needs.

Aadhya Family Fashion looks different on mobile and desktop

Several sections are shown on one device only: the Signature Saree carousel, the testimonials and the promo tiles appear on mobile, while Best Selling and Why Shop With Us appear on desktop. This is by design. A section missing on one device is not a failed publish. If a product row looks empty, the sample products were not added (see "Why do I see products I never added?" and "Why does my store show fewer sample products than the template?" below).

Why do I see products I never added?

They are the template's sample products. They appear only if Add sample products was on when you applied, and they go live when you publish. They carry a Sample tag in Products and can be ordered, so delete them (or edit them into your own) before you take real orders. If you do not want them, apply again with the switch off, or click Publish without samples in the Publish all dialog.

Why does my store show fewer sample products than the template?

Your plan did not have room for the whole sample catalogue. In the apply dialog (Templates tile, then Apply), under Add sample products, a note read "Your plan has room for N of the M sample products, so we'll add those. Upgrade your plan to get the rest." The template added as many samples as fit, products that headline sections first, so some sections may show fewer items. To get the rest, upgrade your plan (or delete products you no longer need to free slots) and apply the template again. If the plan has no free product slots at all, samples stay off and the dialog shows "Your plan does not have room for N more products…".

The Add sample products switch is off or disabled

It is off by default when your store already has products. It is disabled when the template has no samples to add, or when your plan has no room for them ("Your plan does not have room for N more products…"): upgrade, or delete products and reopen the dialog. If publishing says "Your plan no longer has room for the N sample products. Nothing went live.", click Publish without samples in the alert.

Undo is not available, or the button is greyed out

  • Open Template History, then the Store templates tab. The Page versions tab, shown first, does not list template applications.
  • Undo store template live is greyed out on rows the system does not offer an undo for, and while another template action or a history load is running. Wait for it to finish.
  • A row marked Draft has not gone live; use Discard in the draft banner instead. A row marked Undone or Replaced by a newer template has already been dealt with.
  • "No store template applications yet." means nothing has been applied on this store.

Why doesn't my store look like the preview?

  • You are looking at the live store while the template is still a draft. Click Publish all and reload.
  • The card thumbnails are fixed mock-up images of each template's home page, not a picture of your store. Use Preview to see the template's layout; its products and images are the template's samples, not yours.
  • Pages you customised were restyled with your content kept, so your own text and images replace the template's sample copy.
  • You edited a page after applying. Those edits are part of the draft and are published with it.
  • Custom CSS you added to a page is replaced only when the template ships CSS for that page.

Why does the preview show products I don't sell?

The preview shows the template's own sample products and images (sample content) so every section has something to display. It never reads or changes your catalog. After you apply the template, your storefront shows your real products in the template's layout. If you also switched on Add sample products in the apply dialog, the template's samples are added as well (see the sample products section above).

Why don't I see the announcement bar on my storefront after applying a template?

Some templates include announcement text. After applying, open the Store Editor header and select Announcement Bar: Message shows the template's text, and anything you type there overrides it and is kept when you save. If the text is there but the bar is not on your storefront, publish first (Publish all), then set Layout → Layout Axes → Announcement & Utility Bars as Their Own Rows to Stacked, where your header offers that control. See Announcement row.

Why does my header look different after applying a template?

  • Each template has its own header. See the table in "Header style and product page by template": a serif luxury bar, a centred masthead, a department-store bar and so on. Your logo, store name and menu links are kept; the layout around them changes.
  • The announcement bar is gone. Templates other than Saanjh Ethnic Wear and Aadhya Family Fashion no longer switch on an announcement bar. Add your own under Announcement Bar in the header settings.
  • Login is now an icon. On a template-applied store the signed-out account control is a person icon, not a Login button. Click it to reach the sign-in page.
  • I see two delivery checkers, or the old layout. A store that has not applied a store template keeps its previous product page, with the checker above the buy box. The single checker inside the product information appears only after you apply and publish a template.
  • I still see the SKU and "Maison collection" on jewellery. Those lines are hidden only on stores using the new template layout. Re-apply the template, Publish all, then reload the storefront.
  • Want your old header back? Use Discard in the draft banner before publishing, or Undo store template live in Template History afterwards.

Why does my header show icons instead of words?

  • Words (or icon plus word) in the header utilities appear only on stores that applied a 1.1.0 store template with these headers: Heirloom Jewellery, Atelier Fashion, Botanical Beauty, Studio Home and Circuit Electronics.
  • Fresh Grocery, Neighbourhood Bakery, Studio Salon and Saanjh Ethnic Wear keep icons by design.
  • A store that has not applied a store template is unchanged and keeps icons.
  • Applied the template but still see icons? Re-apply it, Publish all, then reload the storefront.
  • On a phone, only Bag (Jewellery) or Search and Bag (the others) are shown; Account and Wishlist are not in the phone bar.

My header looks different after applying

Applying a template replaces your current header, footer, fonts, spacing and section styling with the template's design. Your logo, store name and navigation links are kept, so check them first. To go back to your previous look before publishing, use Discard in the draft banner. After publishing, use Undo store template live in Template History.

I published and don't like it

Open Template History and use Undo store template live. This replaces anything you edited after applying, so copy any edits you want to keep first.
